Shortly after media reported on the court’s reaction to Jay-Z’s private investigators’ “questioning” of Jane Doe, Jay-Z is now declaring a victory lap after Jane Doe fully recanted her story, according to recently filed court documents. The Jane Doe in this instance is the same highly publicized Jane Doe who accused Jay-Z and currently incarcerated Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting her when she was 13. The context is relevant in examining another case, this time involving a mother who would have been 15 at the time of conception. Jay-Z naturally seemed eager to dismiss the claims made by Jane Doe, but he doesn’t seem as eager to take a DNA test to prove his innocence from claims made by Wanda Satterthwaite, the mother of his potential son, Rymir Satterthwaite.

In fact, Wanda Satterthwaite signed a sworn affidavit in 2015 alleging that Shawn Carter was the father of her son, Rymir Satterthwaite. She never recanted the statement up until her passing. In addition, the man who was listed on the birth certificate took a DNA test, which proved that he was not Rymir’s father.

Additionally, simply due to association, several of Jay-Z’s associates have been convicted of sexual offenses, including recently sentenced Harvey Weinstein, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Sean “Diddy” Combs, another associate, is currently serving a sentence. R. Kelly, who Jay-Z famously went on tour with after allegations against Kelly had already surfaced, is also serving a prison sentence for sexual offenses. Affiliations are simply that and do not prove guilt. However, it is interesting that Shawn Carter has never come out publicly to condemn their actions. Jay-Z made sure to distance himself from Sean Combs; however, he didn’t condemn his actions.

Rymir Satterthwaite, the son of Wanda Satterthwaite, has continued the fight, alleging that there was fraud on the court on behalf of Jay-Z and his legal representation. Jay-Z has never taken a DNA test to prove his innocence, something that could easily silence the speculation and give peace to Rymir Satterthwaite and his family, something every family deserves. Instead, Jay-Z and his attorneys fought against the claims and the requirement of taking a DNA test, and litigated their way out of the case.

While Jay-Z might have won his court battle against “Jane Doe” after her recent recantation, Jay-Z still has another situation to clear up, and people do not believe that avoiding a DNA test proves anything. Technically, it doesn’t. While Jay-Z may have avoided taking the DNA test for the time being, it does nothing to disprove the allegations that have become the elephant in his room.
