Darren Seals was NOT Black Lives Matter

Darren Seals was never a part of the Black Lives Matter organization, and right before his assassination he was exposing their entire network, even those who didn’t use the Black Lives Matter banner.

It has been 10 years since the assassination of Darren Seals, and the assassination of his character continues to this day. To clear up confusion about a co-leader, and someone I considered a friend and ally during The Movement, we are going to discuss the disinformation and misinformation surrounding Darren Seals.

Darren Seals was not and was never a part of Black Lives Matter.

Darren Seals grew up in St. Louis, and the Ferguson community, and according to sources he had known the Brown family for years prior to the shooting of Michael Brown Jr. Darren Seals was not an “activist” per se, or an opportunist, or someone political savvy trying to capitalize on a moment. Darren Seals was a police corruption victim who was simply spending a day in his own community when Michael Brown Jr. was shot multiple times unarmed and killed by officer Darren Wilson. Initial witnesses said that Brown Jr., an 18-year-old teenager, had his hands up in the air when he was executed.

Darren Seals had a unique perspective in that situation in that he was a few blocks away when the shooting happened. Seals likely spoke to witnesses before they were gagged. This is important because the first witness interviewed by a local TV station stated that Michael Brown Jr. had his “hands up.” Darren Seals did not just stand idly by after the shooting happened, he began protesting, mobilizing, and spreading the word about what happened.

Darren Seals was not an activist who descended upon Ferguson. Darren Seals was just an everyday citizen living his life who did something extraordinary. When there was an injustice, in a city where injustice is common, Darren Seals and other Ferguson residents stood up. They didn’t just stand up to the local police, law enforcement from across the region had to be called in, and they even called in the Missouri National Guard. There was outrage and disbelief as the story of an unarmed teen being executed by police spread across their region, and due to social media and new Independent media, across the country.

The bravery of the residents of Ferguson and people like Darren Seals is why the entire world was focused on justice. If nobody had taken a stand against the police, and everyone went along as if things were normal, police killings could become normalized. Darren Seals and the people of Ferguson, many who still are unrecognized, inspired the country, a generation, and the world to stand up to injustice by any means necessary. Many believe that for that reason, his opposition decided to assassinate him. This is a glimpse into the history of Darren Seals during his leadership and activism.

Darren Seals was NOT Black Lives Matter. In fact. He despised that organization.

Darren Seals started Ferguson’s movement. He was an original organizer, protester, and leader. Later in his life, due to his trustworthiness and commitment to justice, he became a leader in the revolution as well, the revolution was named “The Movement.” The Movement was in direct opposition to Black Lives Matter and were the first Movement to call Black Lives Matter “COINTELPRO.” COINTELPRO is short for “counterintelligence,” and refers to an FBI operation in the 60’s and 70’s that was used to stifle and stop the Civil Rights movement. While officials have claimed that the program doesn’t exist anymore, the tactics remain, possibly under a different name. However, “COINTELPRO” is very specific, and has evolved to simply mean ‘a deceptive counter to a movement, cause, or policy.” What makes “counterintelligence” so unique is that it doesn’t usually appear as opposition, counterintelligence often masks itself as support. If the public, leaders, or organizations do not defeat counterintelligence, the entire movement, cause, or policy will collapse.

While most people are simply focused on their jobs, their loved ones, and their life, as we all seem to tend to, there is an entire world around us operating to keep us under “control.” That concept is not good or bad in and of itself, but when people have nefarious intentions, all hell can break lose, literally. Americans have become more aware of this in recent times, due to extreme circumstances, however in 2014 and 2015, this was a foreign concept to the vast majority. Even mentioning things that are common knowledge today would receive the “conspiracy” tag back then. This was a time when Diddy was revered and involved in our politics. When Darren Seals and others first began exposing Black Lives Matter and their network for corruption, they were discredited, mocked, and defamed. Fast forward to today and BLM’s (Black Lives Matter) leaders are disgraced, under federal investigation, and scared to address the public in an open forum. Police killings increased every year from 2014 up until 2025. This is after some Democratic Party leaders implemented some of Campaign Zero’s policy, a company owned by Deray McKesson. Deray McKesson who owns Campaign Zero goes by @Deray on X.com.

To say that Darren Seals was a part of the Black Lives Matter Movement would be to say that he was a sellout to police corruption victims, his country, and his own community. It would be the biggest sign of disrespect after what he fought for. It would be a slap in the face.

. Darren Seals notoriously defended his city by slapping the “face” of Black Lives Matter at the time, Deray McKesson. According to witnesses, the slap was so hard that it knocked McKesson to the ground. McKesson was later identified as a DNC/Democratic Party agent and informant who was exposed in recently released Julian Assange’s Wikileaks. McKesson had allegedly smirked when confronted about stealing from and sabotaging the justice for Michael Brown Jr. as well as Ferguson’s Movement that Seals had started.

Darren Seals was never a part of the Black Lives Matter organization, and right before his assassination he was exposing their entire network, even those who didn’t use the Black Lives Matter banner. Darren Seals despised corruption and despised the BLM organization for stealing from, sabotaging, and revictimizing police corruption victims and their families. He was a freedom fighter, revolutionary, hero (one time he saved a missing girl) and a fighter for justice. He was never on the side of the corrupt state like Black Lives Matter. Darren Seals was killed fighting for the people and not selling we the people out. Black Lives Matter was funded to sabotage the people, and to keep the killing and abuses flowing. Almost like prison for profit.

Darren Seals and Black Lives Matter are complete opposites, and they were never the same.

Before Darren Seals was killed, he literally wrote, “Do not call me Black Lives Matter.”
