About Why Main Street

How Why Main Street Combats the Housing Crisis

Fountain Square Park. Bowling Green, Kentucky. Location of the first planned build.

Why Main Street is a business and business model designed to address the housing and affordability crisis.

The housing crisis in America is dire, and things have only gotten worse since American first became aware of the housing crisis. Since the financial crisis of 2008/9, the financial and economic landscape of America has never been the same. A Harvard study reported that cost burden rates tied to rent rose in 88 of the largest 100 metros in the United States from 2019-2024. According to a recent Investopedia article, 49% of people under 30 years old lived with their parents in 2025. With grocery, gas, and utility prices increasing as well for many Americans, prices in America for many have gotten out of control.

Why Main Street was designed at its core to help solve the housing crisis, create jobs, and help small businesses. The mission of Why Main Street is a continuation of the revolution that started shortly after Occupy Wall Street. Addressing income inequality and the affordability crisis, helping out small businesses and entrepreneurs, and fighting against the corruption that enables it is what inspired me to create Why Main Street.

Why Main Street is a truly revolutionary new business model that builds wealth for member-owners, and that builds affordable housing for communities across the country. Each month nearly 90% of monthly membership fees will go towards building affordable housing, which in return builds wealth for the member-owners of Why Main Street. In true revolutionary fashion, members are not just members of our social media company, they own the company and an equal share of its value. The Why Main Street model works so that in 30 years from launch or less, all member-owners will receive an equal share of the company as a dividend payment. The business is set up to provide comprehensive wealth building in the short-term, and long-term it is designed as a retirement plan.

The driver of Why Main Street is building truly affordable housing for those who do not receive government housing assistance. The housing that we build is designed for hardworking Americans and those who do not qualify for government benefits. Our model is based on the “mixed-use” building model that combines commercial/retail space with housing. The mixed-use building model improves density and walkability, and it supplies business tenants with a steady supply of potential customers and foot traffic. We strategically select our building locations  based on viability and access to make sure that people have ideal affordable housing. For housing alone, our current policy is to always keep rent at least $200 below the local market value. Our goal is to provide Americans with housing relief, and the ability to save, as well as wealth building opportunities.

We believe in the American Dream, and people having the ability to achieve it.
