Picture any business on a regular Friday. Someone copies payments from one tool into another by hand. A weekly report gets assembled from three spreadsheets. Nobody can say where a job stands without asking around. The plan for the year lives in a PDF. This month’s numbers arrive late, and nobody fully trusts them. A customer follow-up waits in someone’s memory, and half of how the operation works lives in one person’s head. The business is doing well, and it runs on effort, on people remembering and on people being there.

That everyday chaos is what Hikepoint Consulting helps businesses leave behind. The firm brings order to the whole operation: the tools a team works in, the way work moves from one person to the next, the plan, the numbers and the customer experience. It replaces scattered tools, copy-paste and manual follow-ups with clear processes, connected systems, automations and AI agents built around how each business already works.

A family firm with a climber’s map

Hikepoint was founded by four siblings with a simple goal: to serve the people around them better. They wanted to give clients better service, create better working conditions for every team they work with, and aim high together with everyone on the climb.

Four values guide every expedition, each carried by an animal that lives on the mountain:

  • Golden eagle: vision, leadership and perspective. Seeing the whole route from above before the first step.
  • Snow leopard: agility, precision and focus. Sure footing on steep, rocky ground.
  • Brown bear: strength, trust and wisdom. Steady strength a team can lean on when the weather turns.
  • Wolf: teamwork, loyalty and communication. Nobody climbs alone; the pack moves together.

The company frames operations work as a climb, and its motto is “Routes Untangled.” Every engagement starts at Basecamp, an honest look at how the business runs today. From there, clients follow one or more of nine routes, grouped into three trails: Platform & Tools, Operations & Execution, and Strategy & Growth. The promise Hikepoint makes every client is short: “We stay on the trail with you.”

“Most owners we meet are great at what they do,” said María Hernández. “We help them build a business that keeps running on the days they can’t watch it.”

Lessons from the trail

Hikepoint brings what the outdoors has taught its founders into every business it works with. Six lessons from the mountain shape how the team guides each climb:

  1. Change the route. Some climbs only open up with a new strategy. When effort stops paying off, step back and pick a better line.
  2. Confidence comes after the climb. It arrives once you’ve done the thing you feared.
  3. Some moves just need to happen. Trust your footing and take the step.
  4. Set the ego down at basecamp. Real progress starts when you ask for help, keep learning and trust your rope team.
  5. Fear is a sign you care. Sometimes it’s a cue to check your gear. Often it means the climb matters to you, and that’s a reason to keep going.
  6. Consistency gets you higher. Small, steady steps, every day.

The same rules hold on a mountain and inside an operation, and they shape every system Hikepoint builds.

Real systems, real numbers

Five to eight hours a week. That’s what one connection gave back to one client’s team. Before, every payout went through the same manual routine: check the request in Smartsheet, validate the amount, make sure the request was filled out correctly, and only then send the transfer through Stripe. Hikepoint connected the two, and now every payout is validated and processed automatically. One job, one automation. Imagine what more automations and optimizations across the business can give back.

Hikepoint builds with the software its clients already use whenever it can, including Smartsheet, Stripe, CRMs and ERPs, and picks the method that fits each client’s setup.

In another case, a key person in a client’s department had to step away unexpectedly, and much of how that department ran lived with that one person. Hikepoint optimized the process, built the systems around it and documented everything step by step. Today anyone in the department can pick up the work, and the team won’t be caught in that position again.

“Every business we walk into has its own kind of chaos: a spreadsheet only one person understands, tools that don’t talk to each other, numbers nobody fully trusts,” said Andrés Hernández. “We map it with the team, then build the processes, automations and AI agents that take it off their plate, one system at a time. And when a spreadsheet is enough, we tell them.”

New on the trail: AI agents, design and the web

Hikepoint never stops adding to the route. The goal is simple: everything a business runs on, in one place, with one team. The firm is now incorporating AI agents into its work, so repetitive steps inside a business’s processes can run on their own with a person keeping an eye on the result. It has also added UX/UI design and web page creation, so the apps, tools and websites a team and its customers use every day are simple to read, simple to use and wired into the systems behind them. And the list keeps growing as clients’ needs grow.

One team, from strategy to handoff

Hikepoint offers its nine services one at a time or together as one engagement, with a single team from strategy through handoff. Think of it as one rope team: the same people from the first map to the summit. There’s no lock-in: clients own the map and everything built on it. The firm has worked across 12 industries, from industrial manufacturing and commercial construction to retail, healthcare, technology and logistics. The same operational patterns show up in each of them, adapted to each industry’s context, language and compliance layer.

Start today, while business is good

Experienced climbers check their gear before they leave the trailhead, while the sky is still clear. The best moment to improve an operation works the same way: while it’s working. A business that brings its tools and processes up to date now has room to keep growing, and it’s ready when the next busy season, new hire or big client arrives. Hikepoint works with owners and operators at that point, so their growth keeps its pace and the business doesn’t stall. A good guide points out the rocks on the trail ahead while there’s still time to plan around them.

“The owners who climb fastest start before anything breaks,” said María Hernández. “They look at how the business runs today, pick one system, and build from there. You can start this week.”

For Why Main Street readers who aren’t sure where their business would benefit most, Hikepoint offers a free 30-minute call to plan the route. Owners share how the business runs today and where they want to take it, and Hikepoint recommends which service or combination makes sense and how it would be scoped. Pricing is scoped together after that conversation.

Owners can also try Hikepoint’s ROI calculator, which estimates what manual, repetitive work and rework cost a business each year.
